ABOUT THE MUSSOORIE
In the Uttarakhand state of India, Mussoorie is a hill station and municipal board located close to Dehradun city in the Dehradun district. It lies around 290 km (180 mi) north of New Delhi, the capital of India, and 35 km (22 mi) from Dehradun, the state capital. The hill station is situated in the Himalayan foothills of Garhwal. “Greater Mussoorie” is the term used to describe the townships of Barlowganj and Jharipani as well as the nearby town of Landour, which has a military cantonment.
The average elevation of Mussoorie is 2,005 metres (6,578 feet). The Doon Valley and Shiwalik mountains lie to the south, while the Himalayan snow ranges are to the northeast. At a height of more than 2,275 metres (7,464 feet), the old Lal Tibba in Landour is the second-highest peak. Mussoorie is referred to as The Queen of the Hills by locals. Mussoorie has become a more well-liked tourism destination in recent years, thanks to its numerous attractions including Dhanaulti, Lal Tibba, and the Camel’s Back Road. According to the Uttarakhand Government, 3.02 million (30.23 lacs) visited Mussoorie in 2019.
